Shooting the Sun

Having slogged through a rather uninspired month, and the consistent cold wetness that is Hamburg in late Autumn, I’m way behind here.

Today, being unexpectedly released from work into an unexpectedly crisp, clear and sunny afternoon, if felt almost criminal to not walk around, enjoy it, and see what me and my camera come up with.

Golden Tree

For a brief moment, I fell in love with this tree.

There’s a very small and hard to hit target in photography. Our eyes and cameras have so very little in common. What you see (and what you feel about it) is never what comes out of the camera. So we edit contrast, saturation, clarity and more, to try and make a picture that transports at least a little of what we saw, and gives others the chance to fall in love with it too.
