When I was a kid, my father lived across the street from the beach. Every summer I’d visit him and spend the whole time in the waves. Whenever I see the ocean again, it always feels like catching up with an old friend.
For a brief moment, I fell in love with this tree.
There’s a very small and hard to hit target in photography. Our eyes and cameras have so very little in common. What you see (and what you feel about it) is never what comes out of the camera. So we edit contrast, saturation, clarity and more, to try and make a picture that transports at least a little of what we saw, and gives others the chance to fall in love with it too.
